What We Offer
We work with independent studios, cultural institutions and digital publishers on editorial and aesthetic projects. These are the engagements we take on.
We work with organisations building editorial presences in the digital culture space — advising on voice, structure, content format and editorial positioning. This typically involves an initial audit of existing content and positioning, followed by a series of working sessions to develop an editorial framework.
- Editorial audit and positioning analysis
- Voice and style guide development
- Content format definition and examples
- Contributor brief templates
- Up to three rounds of revision
We produce research documents on specific areas of internet culture — aesthetic movements, platform behaviours, subculture dynamics, interface trends. These are written to the same standard as our editorial work: analytical, specific, and free of hype.
- Defined research brief and methodology
- Long-form research document (5,000–12,000 words)
- Visual reference appendix
- Executive summary
- One follow-up Q&A session
We accept a limited number of commissioned essays per year, on subjects within our editorial scope. Commissions are discussed individually. We do not write branded content, product reviews or sponsored editorial. All commissioned work is credited to the individual writer.
- One pre-commission brief discussion
- Essay of agreed length (typically 2,000–6,000 words)
- Two rounds of revision based on editorial feedback
- Final proofed copy
Both contributors are available for talks and panel discussions on subjects within their editorial areas. Vera Okafor speaks on online identity, interface culture and digital communities. Søren Villads speaks on digital aesthetics, typography systems and visual culture.
- Pre-event brief discussion
- Prepared talk or panel participation
- Slide deck where appropriate
- Post-event Q&A
